Thomas Caron, ce nom vous dit quelque chose ? Sans lui, Laurier-Station n’existerait sans doute pas. L'histoire veut que la Fabrique ait adopté une résolution le 10 février 1895 l’autorisant à vendre les terrains nécessaires à la construction du chemin de fer. On dit même que tout le matériel était acheté et rendu sur place lorsque Thomas Caron, un cultivateur, très astucieux, fit venir chez lui le surintendant du C.N.R. et lui fit miroiter les avantages de passer la ligne de chemin de fer un peu plus au nord.
