"In 1956, Baer joined Sanders Associates in Nashua, New Hampshire building airborne radar components. He became manager of the Electronic Design Department at Sanders and eventually Division Manager and Chief Engineer for Equipment Design. Baer retired in 1987. At Sanders in 1966, Baer began an independent project experimenting with ways for consumers to interact with standard home television sets. Development of interactive TV Game (TVG) ideas became a company-supported project continued by Baer and assisted by William H. Harrison and William T. Rusch (download the TV game chronology prepared by Ralph Baer in 2006)"

Notes personnelles de Ralph Baer
"10/20/66 - R. Tremblay starts on 4-tube techniques demo, TVG#1 attaches to Heathkit IG-62 and allows lines and spots to be displayed and moved manually (1st spot generator)."

"Fortunately, this did not deter Baer’s supervisors. They agreed to a modest research project. In 1967, Baer with the assistance of Bob Tremblay, a technician who worked with Baer at Sanders, created the first of several video game test units. Called TVG#1 or TV Game Unit [Vous devez être inscrit et connecté pour voir ce lien], the device, when used with an alignment generator, produced a dot on the television screen that could be manually controlled by the user."

Though transistors were available, Baer, who had received his bachelor’s in television engineering, choose to use the familiar and proven technology of vacuum tubes for this early test unit."

"On September 6th (1966), he drew an elementary schematic of a two-player game that he called a Chase Game. The game consisted of two squares (spots) that could be moved on the screen in both directions by two payers. The schematic also showed how to add color to the playing field. A few days later, he assigned a technician, Bob Tremblay, to the job of building up a vacuum tube circuit to prove that spots (player symbols) or bars could be easily displayed on a TV screen. [...] Bob Tremblay finished the work in February 1967; it was now possible to move a single spot around the screen of the Black and White TV set used for the work so far. It was also possible to change the spot’s shape from square to rectangular or stretch it into lines of various lengths. [...] During January 1967, Bob Solomon, an engineer in Ralph Baer’s division, Bob Tremblay and Ralph himself got together a number of times to come up with ideas for simple games, such as Chase games, "Bucket-Filling" and "Fireman" Games, Skill games and others, all of which were technically feasible with little more than the simple hardware they had assembled so far. They purchased an RCA color TV set for use during their ongoing experiments. Ralph designed some new circuitry for color display, with which the others were not familiar."

EELRIJUE on the internet: A man named Bob Tremblay used the word/name? EELRIJUE on a post dated 11/17/04 at lightgate.net/boards Bob Tremblay was the Electrical Engineer who worked on the Magnavox/Odyssey Console circuits (the first gaming system and precurser to Atari Pong) The founder of Odyssey was Ralph Baer also worked for the government. (Update: hmmmm that's interesting... I tried to do another search for Bob Tremblay's post and it's gone!)

"The next innovators name was Ralph Baer. He was born in Nazi Germany and his family escaped to the US. in 1938. Thank goodness he did because his innovation would change and affect the history of video games and perhaps computers themselves.
