Gene A. Pelletier Obituary
Gene A. Pelletier, age 67, of Bethlehem, N.H., passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2008, at home, after a long illness.
Gene was born Oct. 24, 1940, in Lancaster, N.H., a son of the late Zephirin and Alma (Douillard) Pelletier. When he was still a young child, the family bought a farm in West Burke, Vt., where he grew up with six brothers and three sisters. Gene married Jean (Douglas) in 1963 and moved to Littleton, N.H. In 1967 he built a home in Bethlehem were he continued to reside until his death.
Gene was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the outdoors. In his lifetime, he was a carpenter, construction worker, bridge builder, woodsman, mechanic, repaired small engines, and his most recent job before retirement, was with Arrow Equipment, mainly working with waste oil furnaces. He leaves many friends and family members too numerous to mention.
Gene is survived by his wife, Jean Pelletier of Bethlehem, N.H., and four children, Mary Pelletier and Dawn Pelletier of Monroe, N.H.; Alana Fogg of Mechanic Falls, Maine; Michael Pelletier of Bethlehem, N.H.; five grandchildren; six brothers, Jacque Pelletier, Real Pelletier, and Paul Pelletier, all of Littleton, N.H., Joseph Pelletier of Vernon, Conn., Leonard Pelletier of Dalton, N.H.; Lucien Pelletier of Fla.; three sisters, Louise McClure of Lyndonville, Vt., Hugette Thompson of Sheffield, Vt., and Arline Dezan of Fontana, Calif. He was predeceased by his father, Zephirin, in 1979 and his mother, Alma, in 1989.
The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon, May 11, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at the Pillsbury Funeral Home located at 101 Union St. in Littleton. A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 12, at 11 a.m. in the Maple Street Cemetery in Bethlehem, N.H.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Country Home Health and Hospice Agency at 536 Cottage St., Littleton, NH 03561.
Arrangements and care have been entrusted to the Pillsbury Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Inc. To view an online memorial or to send a message of condolence, please visit www.pillsburyfh.com.
